As the city leader, Oscar Puente introduced several important strategies for Valladolid. The two most important ones came in 2021 and 2022, which are the result of several previous strategies. In 2021, mayor Puente and the City Council announced their new plans for achieving sustainability. This strategy introduced bonuses for private companies and citizens which install solar panels. The aim of the strategy was wider promotion of this green source of energy, but also to increase the citizen participation in these projects. His latest strategy, announced in January 2022, are his plans for transition of public bus network towards electricity. This will be done through the introduction of eBuses and establishment of electric vehicle factory on the outskirts of the city. (photo credit: wikimedia)
