Biography
Christian Paul Gilbert Estrosi has been mayor of Nice since 2017. This wasn’t the first time for Estrosi to be elected for mayor since he previously held the office from 2008 to 2016.
Prior to becoming the mayor of Nice, Christian Estrosi also served as President of the Regional Council of Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur from 2015 to 2017 and he was the First Deputy Mayor of Nice from 2016 until 2017.
The current mayor of Nice dreamed of becoming a politician from early childhood and his dreams came to reality. Before he became the mayor of Nice, Christian Estrosi was a multiple French motorcycle champion.
He is always trying to make the city of Nice a territory of the future where citizens will have a better quality of life through many different projects. Also, the United Nation’s cultural organization even included the French Mediterranean city of Nice to its world heritage list in 2021,
Since mayor Estrosi was born in Nice in 1955, he knows his hometown perfectly and cares about it a lot. Since he spent most of his life in the city of Nice, he knows exactly how the city functions and what the citizens want and need from the city, which is also why he makes a great and respected mayor.
Under his mayoral term, the City of Nice has conceived a highly committed policy in terms of sustainable development and environmental protection. For this purpose, a vast program for the redevelopment of the parks and gardens is underway which is a part of creating eco-valley a showcase of sustainable development.
One of the major projects for the city also includes creating the multimodal transport hub which will be the main form of transport in Nice in the future.
Christian Estrosi is a mayor who is very attached to his hometown and he even published a book in 2013, under the name “Son of Nice”, which is his second book.
