School meals: for each pupil one month out of ten free thanks to the organic canteen prize won by the Municipality
Each pupil will be entitled to 20 free meals, thus saving 10% of the cost of school meals: the measure is being implemented thanks to the Ministerial Fund for organic canteens that the Municipality was awarded for this school year thanks to the excellence of its canteen service, with approximately 3.5 million organic meals served in 2019. The fund foresees 1.6 million euros for Bologna – the most practical way to use this option was to establish a number of free meals (20) to be awarded to each member on a continuous basis and 6 meals for those enrolled in the service for the sole frequency of workshops and afternoon activities in secondary schools first degree. Families do not have to do anything: the discount will already be contained in the incoming bulletins.
“I am very satisfied with this recognition that we have also obtained this school year. For our city it is a source of pride that repays the work done in recent years by the municipal administration together with the manager, AUSL, teachers and parents within the city canteen Commission”, affirms the councilor at the school Susanna Zaccaria. “Our commitment to an increasingly high quality canteen is being made on a daily basis: we think about the health of our young citizens, their quality nutrition and environmental education, which is also fundamental for the historical period we are living”.
