Nice is one of the most attractive French cities for investors, survey says
The organization Les Conseillers du Commerce extérieur de la France (French Foreign Trade Advisors) and Eurogroup Consulting have carried out the newest Territory Attractiveness Index for France. The main conclusion of the latest edition is that two years after the start of the Covid crisis, France still remains very attractive to foreign investors.
After a significant drop in 2021, the perception of France’s innovation and research capacities is on the rise again (+3.16 points). The other criteria which are also in the rise are taxation, the cost of labor and work flexibility (approximately +3 points each).
After Lyon (75%) and Greater Paris area (73%), Nice was ranked third with 62% of respondents marking the Metropolis as “Excellent” when talking about quality of life and the environment.
Mayor of Nice Christian Estrosi shared this news via social media and added: “We will continue following this path which initiated in 2008 for our territory”.
This years’ Index is only 1.7 points from its 2020 record, meaning that the interest for the French territory, which became the most attractive country in Europe in 2019, is confirmed once again this year.
Some of the most important reasons why France is attractive to investors are the cultural environment, the quality of infrastructure, the quality of life and the environment, the capacity for innovation and research and the quality of the workforce.
Also, the perception on criteria that are traditionally weaker is quite improving, such as the points for the labor flexibility and their cost. (photo credit: Joachim Lesne/Unsplash)
