Stuttgart gave presents to vulnerable children and mothers at the Counselling Centre for Pregnant Women.

Lord Mayor of Stuttgart Frank Nopper visited the centre and gave Christmas presents to the women and their children, noting that 55 institutions were involved in the campaign.

Centre head Gertrud Höld thanked him on behalf of the women and children and noted that the centre has been taking part in Stuttgart’s Christmas projects for more than 10 years.

“For many of our clients, the Christmas season is a difficult and stressful time,” she pointed out and added that many cannot afford to buy presents.

“We would like to thank all of Stuttgart’s citizens who have lovingly and carefully selected the gifts for the women and families – now Christmas can come,” she concluded.

City authorities reminded that the children’s office has been organising the campaign since 2008, noting that it fulfilled the wishes of nearly 19,000 children since then.

Stuttgart commended its young volunteers for taking part in the campaign, noting that they help to make Christmas better for the most vulnerable each year.

City authorities pointed out that institutions involved in the campaign gathered children’s wishes and forwarded them to the children’s office.

The city thanked everyone who helped to gather or donated presents to improve the Christmas experience of pregnant women and their children in need of help.
