Stuttgart has launched the Sports in Park project aimed at promoting outdoor physical activities and sports, and making them more accessible to residents.

Headed by Lord Mayor of Stuttgart Frank Nopper, city authorities pointed out that the project will run through the summer, to the end of September.

City authorities noted that residents enthusiastic about sports and exercise can choose from more than 80 offers and try out different sports and activities.

Deputy Mayor Clemens Maier reminded that Stuttgart organised the project in cooperation with local sports clubs and added that the Sports in Park project has become “an integral part of sport and exercise in our city.”

“We would like to activate even more Stuttgart residents this season and invite them to take part in the city’s largest exercise programme and do sports together outside,” he concluded.

City authorities pointed out that residents have an opportunity to try yoga, fitness, calisthenics, dancing, footballs, beach volleyball, table tennis and more.

Activities are suitable for beginners and experts, with city authorities noting that yoga classes in Ukrainian are available this year as part of the offer for refugees from Ukraine.

Sports clubs reminded that 98% of residents who took part in the project last season rated the work of trainers as good or very good and expressed hope that the project will lead more residents to join clubs.
