Stockholm ranks as 2nd most competitive European city

The Swedish capital Stockholm has been ranked as the second most competitive city among 27 European capitals in Stockholm Chamber of Commerce’s newest report.

Mayor of Stockholm Anna König Jerlmyr stated on social media: ‘’How well are Europe’s capitals performing? That’s the question answered by the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce’s new report, which compares Stockholm’s competitiveness with 26 other European capitals. We qualify as the second best European capital.’’

This important survey uncovers challenges and answers so that Stockholm can continue to strive to be the most competitive city in Europe and beyond. Mayor of Stockholm stated she was incredibly proud of Stockholm’s ranking in the study and expressed determination to take the Swedish city to the top of the rankings.

Other Scandinavian capital cities Oslo, Helsinki, and Copenhagen also ranked at the very top of the rankings published by the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce.

‘’To keep this up, it’s important that the Nordic capitals that are all at the top work together. In this way, we can learn from each other’s successes and pitfalls,’’ mayor König Jerlmyr further stated.

‘’Today, I, former Norwegian Minister for Climate and Environment and CEO of the Nobel Foundation Vidar Helgesen and former Mayor of Helsinki Jan Vapaavuori talked at the Chamber of Commerce about exactly what the way forward should look like when it comes to security, sustainability, and the housing market, among other things,’’ mayor of Stockholm Anna König Jerlmyr also said.

Stockholm was also named the most innovative region in Europe on last year’s European Innovation Scoreboard and continues to thrive in this area. The city’s vibrant start-up scene and amazing business climate undoubtedly contribute to this. (photo credit: Giraffew/Pixabay)
