Mayor of Zagreb presented the new Smart City HUB platform
Mayor of Zagreb Tomislav Tomašević has recently presented the Smart City HUB platform of the City of Zagreb, whose goal is to unite all different types of applications and information from various city offices in one place. One of the biggest novelties is Zagreb’s Open Budget.
Mayor Tomašević stated: “The idea of Smart City HUB is to have all different types of applications that exist in different city offices and institutions on one platform. There are so many digital projects in Zagreb that it is difficult to list them, and a good part of citizens do not even know they exist, let alone to use them.”
An important part of the platform is the Open Budget, which shows the city’s priorities, where the money is spent and on which projects: “An open budget is the foundation of any transparency of the authorities”, mayor Tomislav Tomašević emphasized.
Detailed information on City’s income and expenses will be presented on the so-called the third level of details, although under the new law it must be presented only at the second level, with less detail.
“We want to present it on the fourth level of details; we will go one step ahead of what is now the standard and two steps ahead of what is the legal standard. We want more detailed data on budget revenues and expenditures to be available to citizens and the public,” said the mayor.
