Work on expanding the approximately 5,800 square meter green space in the Kaspersfeld development area in Duisburg-Röttgersbach has started.

The barrier-free facility will form an important connecting element within the residential area as well as the adjacent areas and, as well as the planned children’s playground, will noticeably improve the quality of life for the residents. 35 tall trees will be planted along the green area. 18 of these will be fruit trees, which are intended to form a meadow orchard in the north-eastern and southern areas.

The approximately 700 square meters playground will form the focal point of the green area and contain a range of games for children up to the age of twelve. A sand play area with a playhouse and a seesaw swing area with playing facilities for the little ones is palso planned. A separate area with a playing combination of climbing, balancing and sliding is set up for the older children.

The construction and planting work on the green area is expected to be completed by the middle of the year 2021. Subsequently, the Duisburg commercial enterprise will start building the playground in the summer. The total cost of the expansion is expected to be around 400,000 euros.
