The Bethlehem light in Zagreb City Council

The scouts of the Zagreb Scout Choir, for the 16th year in a row, brought the Bethlehem Light of Peace to the Zagreb City Council. t is a tradition that began in Vienna 30 years ago, and which the people of Zagreb gladly accepted in anticipation of the holiday that celebrates the birth of Jesus Christ.

Welcoming the gathered, Mayor of Zagreb Milan Bandić sent a special thank you to 10-year-old Eva Kuzman, who made the audience happy and touched them with her performance of the song Angeluš – the most beautiful song about the city of Zagreb.

“In these demanding times, more than ever, we must show solidarity and give a hand of peace to each other. Fellowship is what unites us and helps us overcome all the adversities that have befallen us. I wish you a blessed Christmas and New Year!”, said mayor Bandić.

The coordinator from the Zagreb Scout Association, Višnja Sremić, emphasized that this year the light comes from Salzburg. “I am sending a message of peace and love in the hope that we will overcome the situation we found ourselves as soon as possible, caused by the coronavirus pandemic.”
