Turin to host Winter World University Games 2025
City of Turin officially became Winter World University Games 2025 host.
Mayor of Turin Chiara Appendino was present at the final signing of the contract which confirmed Turin as the host.
Besides mayor Appendino, the event was attended by FISU Acting President Leonz Eder, President of the Organising Committee Alessandro Ciro Sciretti, FISU Executive Committee member Lorenzo Lentini, President of the Turin University Sports Center Riccardo D’Elicio and many others.
After Summer Universiade in 1959, Turin is hosting its second Games organized by International University Sports Federation (FISU).
FISU Acting President Eder stated: “We are so happy to see the FISU Games come back to the city of Turin as the birthplace of the first Universiade in 1959 – quite remarkably a true legacy of the Games and the University Sport Movement. Congratulations to all those involved, and I look forward to seeing you all in 2025.”
The summer 2025 Games will be hosted by the Rhine-Ruhr region in Germany.
