Youth 20 starts today

Youth 20 (Y20), the official engagement group of the G20 created with the aim of giving young people a chance to express their visions and ideas to the Heads of State and Government of the G20 is starting today, Monday 19.

It is virtually hosted by Bergamo and Milan and the three macro areas that will be covered are: innovation, digitalization and the future of work, the second one is sustainability, climate and energy and the third one is inclusion and equal opportunities.

Mayor of Milan Giuseppe Sala, head of EC representation in Milan Massimo Gaudina, Italian Minister of Sustainable Infrastructure and Mobility Enrico Giovannini will address welcome speeches on the first day, share insights on the important topic of sustainability and on the role that the youth play in building a ‘greener’ society.

The second day of the Summit will be virtually hosted by the city of Bergamo, where participants will be welcomed by mayor of Bergamo Giorgio Gori and the Rector of the University of Bergamo Remo Morzenti Pellegrini.

On the third day, there will be an interactive panel discussion on the topic of innovation, education and the future of work, while the fourth day is dedicated to the youth to meet the leaders of the coffee sector for an interactive dialogue on sustainability, inclusion and innovation in the coffee value chain.

The inputs gathered from the first four days of the Summit will be then leveraged to finalize the Y20 Communiqué which will be officially handed over to the G20 Sherpa, Ambassador Luigi Mattiolo, during the last day of the Summit.
