Murcia has launched a project aimed at boosting employment in cooperation with 14 partners.

Mayor of Murcia José Antonio Serrano Martínez signed the agreements with partners and noted that the move is part of the city’s employment and economic development plan.

“The agreements with these business and professional organizations, professional associations and the University of Murcia are part of the Employment and Economic Promotion Plan 2021-2023 and will allow us to promote active employment policies in the municipality,” he stressed.

City authorities stressed that new cooperation will help it to develop and implement measures aimed at promoting employment and self-employment, which will contribute to economic development of the municipality.

Authorities will monitor the labour market and analyse effects of pro-employment measures to improve the model and maximise positive economic effects.

Besides promoting employment, the project will support development of circular economy and the green sector as well as social and solidarity initiatives.

It will look to boost employment of university students through scholarships and internship programmes, and promote culture of entrepreneurship.

City authorities concluded that the project will offer mentoring for entrepreneurs and new companies as well as workshops to help them develop and implement business plans.
