Hannover to host gaming festival DreamHack in December 2022
Freaks 4U Gaming, an esports and gaming agency and exhibition organiser Deutsche Messe will be joining forces to organise DreamHack Hannover in December 2022, Esports Insider reported.
Deutsche Messe, the company that owns and operates the Hannover Fairgrounds, is one of the world’s largest and most active trade fair companies. This is said to be part of a new multi-year partnership between Freaks 4U Gaming and Deutsche Messe to bring ‘the leading gaming lifestyle experience’ to Hannover.
CEO of Freaks 4U Gaming Michael Haenisch commented: “DreamHack is undisputedly the most iconic event synonymous with the gaming community, it’s a momentous milestone for Freaks 4U Gaming to be realising DreamHack in Germany in the coming years.
“We are incredibly excited to team up with Deutsche Messe to bring the most relevant gaming and esports festival to Hannover through a multi-year partnership, also growing DreamHack Hannover into one of the lighthouse events within the DreamHack brand worldwide,” he continued.
Esports’ growing popularity can be attributed to a variety of factors. One of the primary reasons why so many people participate in esports as spectators is that there is a sizable market for video games all over the world. The Hannover event will include a LAN area, cosplay competitions, music and influencer appearances, and esports tournaments.
Philipp Wilhelm, Senior Project Director New Events, Deutsche Messe AG, stated: “The enormous potential of professional athletes and active esports fans makes the event incomparable and trend-setting within the industry. Together with Freaks 4U Gaming, we will fascinate and redeem the visitors with a new area and scale of esports festivals.” (photo credit: Dreamhack)
