Bratislava cooperates with land owners on urban development plan
Bratislava is cooperating with land owners on its urban development plan, noting that it received more than 100 suggestions from developers and land owners.
Headed by Mayor of Bratislava Matúš Vallo, city authorities called on land owners and developers to propose changes to the spatial plan with the aim of increasing the availability of housing.
Bratislava received 128 applications of which 92 were in line with rules of the competition, with the most coming from Ružinov district.
City authorities pointed out that public-private cooperation is a tool that will help Bratislava to increase availability of housing and added that the city will examine the possibility of revising the spatial plan in locations where it is in public interest.
Lenka Antalová Plavuchová, Deputy Mayor of Bratislava, noted that the city adopted clear rules for cooperation with developers that were drawn up in coordination with all interested parties.
She reminded that, in December last year, city authorities presented developers and land owners with guidelines for preparing urban planning studies.
City authorities noted that the Metropolitan Institute of Bratislava (MIB) will prepare an urban planning study for Ružinov district as developers and land owners showed the most interest for the area.
After the MIB completes the study, city authorities will launch a public discussion on it.
