New San Siro stadium: yes, but environmentally sustainable
Now that Giuseppe Sala was officially re-elected for the position of mayor of Milan, the talks regarding the construction of the new San Siro stadium are, once again, back on track.
The main condition that the Municipality proposes is taking the environmental sustainability into consideration.
CEOs of FCs Milan and Inter, Alessandro Antonello and Paolo Scaroni met with mayor of Milan Giuseppe Sala this morning about resuming the process of getting the construction of a new San Siro approved.
The official follow-up statement after the meeting was finishad said: “Mayor of Milan Giuseppe Sala met the representatives of the clubs FC Internazionale and AC Milan at Palazzo Marino to resume the stadium project. The municipal administration understands the need for football clubs to equip themselves with a new a infrastructure that allows them to return to compete at the highest international levels and intends to favour this path. However, a solution must be identified that will allow the environmental sustainability of the new urban development to be best combined with the investment of the clubs. The parties will meet again very soon to technically address the issue.”
