In this respectable publication of university rankings, the University of Oxford has been ranked in the first place for the sixth year running, marking an incredible success. As a modern, research-driven university, Oxford was also ranked first in the Times Higher Education’s 2021 subject rankings in the ‘clinical and health’ category, as well as computer science. Furthermore, Oxford University also ranked within the Top 5 for social sciences, life sciences, engineering and technology, business and economics, arts and humanities, law, and education. 

The University of Oxford is the oldest university in the English-speaking world and the world’s second-oldest surviving university. Located around Oxford’s mediaeval city centre, the worldwide-famous university comprises 44 colleges and halls. With more than 100 libraries, it is also the largest library system in the United Kingdom.

UK’s University of Cambridge was ranked 5th best university globally by the Times Higher Education’s 2022 rankings, which also makes it Europe’s second highest-ranked university. It is home to over 23,000 students from more than 140 countries and is considered one of the most prestigious universities in the world. Students who attain qualifications from Cambridge are most sought after by employers in almost every field.

Located some 90 kilometres north of London, Cambridge is well known for its picturesque streets, gardens, architecture, and surrounding countryside, which makes it the perfect place to sit back and relax, or to explore the great outdoors. In addition to offering top-notch education, international students in Cambridge are also able to enjoy beautiful nature and greenery, making this city a very attractive destination for international students.

Imperial College London is ranked just below Cambridge University when looking into universities located in Europe. It is known for innovation, excellence, and employability around the globe which is why it has been ranked 12th best university in the world.

ETH Zurich is the highest-ranked university outside the UK, placing 4th in Europe and 14th globally. Another two universities which placed remarkably high on this prestigious annual university rankings are University College London (UCL) and London School of Economics and Political Science.
