One of the most anticipated openings in downtown Saint-Étienne, the reopening of Halles Mazerat, occured during the past weekend.
Located in Cours Victor Hugo, this emblematic building of the Loire Valley came back to life with the establishment of 24 food shops and a unique event program around food and gastronomy. Halles Mazerat will be opened every day except Monday from 8 a.m. with night openings on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
After the opening, mayor of Saint-Etienne Gaël Perdriau wrote on social media: “What an exceptional day! I was overwhelmed with emotions when I entered Halles Mazerat – Biltoki, loyal to the Baltard style of its construction in 1872, with a touch of modernity, but also friendliness and human warmth.
24 traders, passionate about their products and their profession, offer you the best of gastronomy in a breathtaking place!
Tables spread throughout the halls allow you to sit down and taste the high-quality products offered onsite”.
Mayor Perdriau continued: “I am so happy with the result, that I invite you all to come and discover this historic and unique place in the city center. We can all together be proud of what we have achieved: elected officials, municipal services, Biltoki, Innovy, the Saint-Etienne companies who carried out the work, the traders who chose to settle there … Good job and thanks to all. I am so happy for our City of Saint-Étienne!”
