Public health dialogues in Strasbourg focus on environmental disruptors
Strasbourg has organised a discussion on public health with residents, focusing on the impact of environmental factors on health.
City authorities headed by Mayor of Strasbourg Jeanne Barseghian stressed the importance of innovation to adapt to social and environmental changes.
Two rounds of discussion between professionals and communities focused on endocrine disruptors and methods of prevention and protection.
Representatives of the city and national authorities organised a videoconference on the subject, noting that Strasbourg’s experience will serve as a basis for broader discussion and implementation of measures.
City authorities pointed out that the Health Environment Network NGO organised a symposium in the EU Parliament on the role of cities and local authorities in prevention and protection against endocrine disruptors in the environment.
In addition, Strasbourg and the French Healthy Cities Network organised a discussion on health challenges and community initiatives with the aim of raising awareness and discussing measures to address issues.
Roughly 40 representatives of the Healthy Cities Network and local partners attended, with city authorities noting that similar meetings will be held in the future to discuss issues and draw up plans.
Strasbourg stressed the importance of adapting to changes in the environment and implementing measures aimed at protecting health and well-being of residents.
