First residents move in in the Sege Park residential project in Malmö
Malmö continues to implement the residential project in Sege Park, with the first residents moving in.
Headed by Mayor of Malmö Katrin Stjernfeldt Jammeh, the city pointed out that construction is still underway in the area, largely in the southeast of the new neighbourhood.
The first residential units constructed by MKB and ByggVesta real estate companies have been occupied, with other development projects in the area still underway.
In addition to people who have lived in MKB’s student accommodation in Sege Park for 20 years or so, the area now has approximately 100 new residents.
City authorities pointed out that development of the area was in the planning and preparation phase for roughly 10 years.
The first new building to be completed was the parking garage, which was opened in autumn last year, and many new residential buildings are now nearing completion.
ByggVesta’s project in the southeast of Sege Park is focused on multi-family buildings. The company completed 113 smaller apartments there, noting that most of them have balconies or access to common green areas.
The architecture is inspired by existing hospital buildings in the neighbourhood and is characteristic of the 1930s.
MKB’s recently completed project focuses on larger housing units as homes have between one and five rooms. The company stressed that the project promotes a sustainable and resource-efficient lifestyle.
