As part of the project, exterior and interior of the building will be modernised to create a new multifunctional space. The project will make it possible to use the sports centre as a concert hall, for leisure and entertainment, among other.
In addition, new entrances will be added to improve accessibility and make it possible to host larger events where additional exits are required. The building will take advantage of its position for passive heating and boast a heat recovery system to make it more environmentally friendly.
City authorities pointed out that the two projects are part of Alicante’s broader efforts to modernise its sports facilities to help cultivate sports talent and promote sports culture.
