Wroclaw is the most business-friendly city in Poland

Jacek Sutryk is a Polish politician and sociologist who has been serving as mayor of Wrocław, Poland since 2018. He was born on 17 September 1978 in Wrocław.

Mayor of Wroclaw graduated in Sociology from the Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of Wrocław. After completing his studies, he assumed the post of director of the Warsaw-based WRZOS Association, which is a non-governmental organization established to represent the interests of individuals and groups of people who are socially marginalized and who are facing the threat of exclusion from society. 

Mayor Sutryk also worked at the Collegium of Socio-Economics of the Warsaw School of Economics as well as the Janusz Korczak Pedagogical University in Warsaw.

Under his mayoral term, Wroclaw has been ranked first among business-friendly cities in Poland, according to Forbes. Some of the reasons that Wroclaw won this prestigious title are the low costs of business operation, friendly local taxes and the convenient infrastructure in terms of support for local entrepreneurship. 

Furthermore, in 2020, Wroclaw won the Eco-Miasto award in the Urban Greenery category for cities with more than 100,000 inhabitants. Eco-Miasto is a Polish nationwide project aimed at popularising the idea of sustainability and granting awards to Polish cities most committed to environmental protection. The city received also a special award for the aforementioned projects.
