Hannover: positive measures in times of the pandemic
“Together for Hannover”: this is how people, initiatives or companies in Hannover and the region help in times of pandemics.
Right at the beginning of the severe economic crisis caused by Covid-19, an alliance of clubs, companies, organizations and citizens supported the local economy and promoted consumption in their own city. With the online portal “Together for Hannover”, Hannover is strengthening its digital location and helping local businesses.

Companies, the self-employed, creative artists, and many more can present themselves on the portal, and citizens can find out more about the digital offers. Here you can find not only information, but also direct links to digital shops and offers in the region.
The social restrictions in the Corona crisis pose psychological challenges, especially for people who live alone. The daily “small talk”, the short interpersonal conversation while shopping, on the street, in the stairwell carries a risk of contagion and is no longer possible in the usual form. The Diakonisches Werk Hannover therefore launched the “speak up” campaign in March 2020. Participants from the #nachbarschaftschallenge, also a project of the Diakonisches Werk Hannover, have agreed to speak to neighbors – and they can come from all over Hannover -, to exchange ideas and also to talk to each other. Possible interlocutors are put through the Diakonisches Werk hotline on 0511 3687-108.
