15 new electric bicycles arrive at the Local Police
The Mayor of Palma, Jose Hila, presented 15 new electric bicycles for the local police and stated: “Our commitment to the public is that there are more police officers on the street, while we work for a better-equipped local police force so that they can do their job better.”
The Palma Local Police received 15 electric bicycles, ecologically sustainable vehicles, which strengthen the City Council’s commitment to a balanced police model that combines proximity and responsiveness.
The budget for the purchase of these electric vehicles was a total of 46,500 euros (VAT included), and it is another acquisitions that are being made in the department, along with that of the patrol cars, the 50 bulletproof vests, and various security improvements, among other procedures that are underway.
The bikes, Access Control and Temps Balear SL Its model, is Aspe Force 40. They have a Megamo panel with integrated 500 Wh battery and internal wiring, fork with 100 millimeters of travel and suspension lock, Shimano e7000 engine, hydraulic brakes, 29-inch wheels, padded saddlebags with reflectors, alarm, and a 1.39-inch Shimano control monitor. The bicycles will initially be intended for the Coast and West police stations, although their designation will be dynamic, depending on the needs of the service.
“The commitment of the government team to the citizens is that there are more police on the street, while local police will be better equipped, so they can do a better job. This path is already underway.” according to the mayor Hila.
