Mayor Hila: “Palma wants sustainable tourism”

Mayor of Palma José Hila is taking part at the World Travel Market, travel and tourism expo which is currently being organized in London.

It is a platform for millions of meetings and business connections, which over the years have generated deals worth billions euros. WTM is a perfect place to present game-changing travel products or services.

Palma City Council is concentrating on promoting sustainable and quality tourism. Mayor Hila said: “Palma wants sustainable tourism, so we must not be obsessed with breaking visitor records”.

Industry, Tourism & Trade Minister, Reyes Maroto stated: “One in four foreign tourists that came to Spain this year chose the Balearic Islands because it is a safe destination that offers high-quality tourist products. Hoteliers in Mallorca and the other islands should not lower their prices under pressure from tour operators.”
