“Let’s help each other”: the City of Marseille is launching a local mutual aid platform for its citizens

In this time of health crisis, solidarity is a value that takes on its full meaning and there are many people who would like to help. As part of the month of solidarity, the City of Marseille is strengthening its action in favor of the most disadvantaged ones and is launching a local solidarity platform in order to connect people in need and people who offer their help.

The Entraidons-nous platform offers all citizens of Marseille the possibility of offering or benefiting from help by visiting the website of the City of Marseille and the dedicated page marseille.entraidonsnous.fr.

In order to strengthen the solidarity offer, citizens and associations can now publish a proposal for help and / or volunteer hours, via a geolocated ad.

For people in need, an interactive map makes it easier to find help by displaying all the offers. An online form then allows you to contact the closest person directly.

The platform thus puts in direct contact the initiatives, associations or voluntary individuals with the citizens in need for clothes, access to hygiene, help with shopping, remote conversation and any other type of assistance.

These “geolocated” aids can subsequently evolve and be adapted according to the context.

This initiative is going to be very helpful in these times of the health crisis, however the ambition is for it to become a long-term project in terms of solidarity and the fight against poverty.

The City of Marseille has already created a budget for protection of the most vulnerable citizens: 35 million euros have already been invested to face the crisis and support people and professionals in difficulty and this platform is a wonderful additional value for all those in need. Furthermore, the City is not stopping with these measures – Marseille is constantly helping the elderly, students and all those who need help the most.
