Catania: recovery of the two Librino towers with EU funds

Today at 10.30 in the meeting room of Palazzo degli Elefanti mayor of Catania Salvo Pogliese and the president of the Autonomous Institute of Popular Homes of Catania Angelo Sicali, will illustrate the memorandum of understanding between the two public bodies to carry out the recovery works for buildings of the two Towers of viale Biagio Pecorino and via San Teodoro, in Librino.
These properties have been waiting for 25 years to be completed. When finished, another144 lodgings will be allocated to families in need and with housing problems.
The councilor Sergio Parisi will also participate in the initiative with the director of community policies Fabio Finocchiaro. The director general of the Iacp Salvo Bella, the owner of the buildings that grants the Municipality of Catania the possibility of carrying out the recovery and completion works will also take part.
The agreement states that the works, for a total amount of 12.5 million euros, will be financed with funds managed by the Municipality, coming from the community and national programming.
The Municipal Administration has already been awarded the tender for the design of the completion and redevelopment interventions of the two large buildings.
