Padua subsidies to make summer activities accessible for all youth

Padua is subsidising summer activities for kindergartners and pupils of primary and lower secondary schools in cooperation with sports clubs, associations and other entities.

City authorities headed by Mayor of Padua Sergio Giordani pointed out that summer activities will be organised from mid-June until the start of the next school year.

Padua has drawn up a register of available activities and called on residents to apply for programmes, pointing out that the city will provide subsidies to families in need. City authorities noted that the register could be updated if partners fail to comply with requirements.

Subsidies will be provided depending on residents’ economic circumstances, with Padua noting that the most threatened families will have priority and subsidies will be approved until available funds run out.

City authorities pointed out that residents can apply online by 22 May and added that applications have to include digital identification.

Summer activities are generally available to disabled children, with city authorities warning that architectural barriers prevent participation in some locations and adding that residents should contact summer centres to check.

Padua stressed that summer activities are available only in periods listed in the register and called on applicants to check opening and closing times.
