Digitization in Munich schools is getting an additional boost

At the Astrid Lindgren Primary School in Riem, mayor of Munich Verena Dietl and Roswitha Hochenrieder, managing director of LHM Services GmbH, handed out the first laptops for teachers in Munich, with an intention to give the digitization of Munich’s schools a further boost.

The distribution of a total of 10,000 laptops to Munich teachers is an important component in the future IT program that the city council is conducting for Munich schools. In addition to the laptops, this also includes the rollout of 2,000 LTE routers, the supply of other schools with WiFi, and the intensification of direct support for educational institutions.

Mayor of Munich Verena Dietl is happy about the additional boost for digitization: “The Munich City Council has decided on a comprehensive future IT program for Munich schools – one of the largest IT projects in the nationwide education sector! We commissioned LHM Services to modernize the IT landscape at the Munich educational institutions and to establish an industry-related standard. The personalized laptops for Munich teachers are an important component in the future program. ”

Roswitha Hochenrieder, Managing Director of LHM Services , added: “In the past two years we have already been able to significantly improve the equipment in schools. The number of devices at Munich’s educational institutions has increased by half to over 60,000 devices. This number has further increased to 80,000, among other things with the equipment for the teachers.”
