Bucharest celebrates the 561st anniversary

The Mayor of Bucharest Gabriela Firea shared on her social media: “Today, September 20, is one of the most important days in the history of Romania. It is 561 years since the first documented evidence of Bucharest, Little Paris, the city of love, the city of hopes, the city where any childhood dream can come true.”

Gabriela Firea explains: “I was not born in Bucharest but since I was a teenager I felt that this was my place. As a student, I walked timidly on the streets of Bucharest, I didn’t know anyone but from the first moment, I was impressed by the kindness, hospitality, and good faith of the people of Bucharest, by the special charm of this wonderful city. I am grateful for everything Bucharest has given me and I have tried to do everything for the good of the people of Bucharest.”
