London Tech Week kicked off
Mayor of London Sadiq Khan hosted an international welcome reception at London Tech Week, the largest European tech festival, Work Insight reported.
Mayor Khan stated: ‘’London is the undisputed tech and innovation capital of Europe and is also one of the most diverse and vibrant ecosystems in the world. The record levels of investment we’ve seen so far this year offers further proof that London’s tech sector continues to go from strength-to-strength.’’
‘’I’m looking forward to welcoming the global tech community for this year’s London Tech Week, a great opportunity for us to strengthen partnerships across the world and build a better London for everyone,” the mayor of the British capital continued.
The renowned event brings together world business and government leaders, as well as rising stars, to share their expertise and discuss the impact of technology on society.
One of the goals of London Tech Week, which is being held from June 13th to June 17th, is to highlight how technology is impacting business and society by sparking vital discussions about transformation, diversity, and innovation.
Some of the key topics of the 2022 event include digital sustainability, tech investment, ClimateTech, all of which can be considered crucial for the future of cities which are currently faced with a variety of issues.
With a robust tech ecosystem that is constantly developing and fuelling much of Europe’s innovation, London is commonly referred to as a world-leading destination for tech startups and scaleups.
Back in 2019, innovation agency Nesta rated London the greatest city in Europe for developing and growing digital “tech for good” solutions to social and environmental concerns. (photo credit: London Tech Week official website)
