Florence invites residents to help draft sports plan
Florence has invited residents and other interested parties to take part in the drafting of the city’s sports plan.
Headed by Mayor of Florence Dario Nardella, city authorities launched a survey to better understand the needs and expectations of residents, noting that the deadline for filling in questionnaires is 31 January.
Florence pointed out that resident participation is important to draw up a good plan, stressing that the document will be based on an analysis of data on requirements of residents, sporting habits and the broader situation in the city.
The plan will draw up guidelines for medium- and long-term development of sports in Florence, which will help to guide investments in the coming years.
City authorities pointed out that questionnaires are available online for families, athletes, school students and sports associations including clubs.
Surveys will be carried out in primary schools as well, with Florence authorities stressing the importance of hearing out all residents and tailoring plans to suit their needs.
Florence reiterated that the deadline for filling out online questionnaires is the end of January and expressed hope that residents will participate to help the city draw up plans that will guide the development of sports in the future.
