Dublin launched the Bike Hub project in Crumlin suburb to encourage inclusive and accessible cycling for all.

Lord Mayor of Dublin Caroline Conroy noted she was “delighted to launch The Bike Hub Crumlin Pilot Project at Eamonn Ceannt Park.”

She stressed that the project will “provide important services that make cycling more accessible for everyone” and concluded that the park will boast one more excellent community project.

The Bike Hub founder Stephen McManus pointed out that the project will help more people to enjoy cycling and noted that “at our core, The Bike Hub is about community.”

He reminded that the hub has an open-door policy, wants to bring people together and promote an inclusive cycling culture, calling on anyone interested to get involved.

Dublin’s head of technical services Brandan O’Brien added that the “Dublin City Council is delighted to support this new community cycling pilot here at Eamonn Park,” stressing that the project will “play an important role in encouraging and supporting communities traditionally excluded from cycling through the provision of accessible bikes, training and outreach programmes.”

As part of the project, accessible bicycle rides are available for free at the hub in Crumlin, with city authorities pointing out that additional cycling projects will become available in the coming weeks.

Dublin noted that the National Transport Authority is financing the pilot project.
