Mayor of Copenhagen Sophie Hæstorp Andersen announced she will soon be visiting Brønshøj-Husum, one of the ten districts of the Danish capital. This way, the new mayor wants to get to know the city’s residents better and address the challenges they may be facing.

Mayor Hæstorp Andersen stated on social media: ‘’Although I have lived in Copenhagen for over 25 years, I still have a lot to learn about our fantastic city, as a new mayor. And I believe that we make better decisions by being in dialogue with each other and when we know each other’s everyday life.’’

‘’Therefore, I will move the office out of the city hall and instead work from Copenhagen’s different districts,’’ the mayor of Copenhagen further stated.

Mayor Hæstorp Andersen will be paying a visit to Brønshøj-Husum at the end of this month, which is why she has called upon the local residents to approach her with their ideas and suggestions. People living and working in this area are welcome to share suggestions or even invite the mayor for a visit to their workplace.

‘’Here I want to meet you, who live and work in the area. To know your concerns, your challenges, your ideas, and your victories. In particular, how we as a municipality can get better at strengthening our communities – for example, by combating loneliness or ensuring that everyone can participate, regardless of background,’’ mayor Hæstorp Andersen further stated.

Brønshøj-Husum is the northwesternmost part of Copenhagen Municipality and is also viewed as one of the most diverse parts of the city. Back in 2008, a local committee was launched in this district and has worked on a number of important issues in this area. It also aimed to strengthen the dialogue in this part of the city.

‘’All ideas and input from Brønshøj-Husum are very welcome. I hope to hear from you. I’m looking forward to seeing you,’’ mayor of Copenhagen Sophie Hæstorp Andersen concluded. (photo credit: SvitlanaRom/Pixabay)
