Second working meeting regarding Seine axis got held in Le Havre
After Rouen and before Paris this fall, mayor of Paris Anne Hidalgo, mayor of Le Havre Edouard Philippe, mayor of Rouen Nicolas Mayer-Rossignol and mayor of Rueil-Malmaison Patrick Ollier met in Le Havre for a second working meeting on the Seine axis. They all visited the port and discussed topics as agriculture, energy and freight. They also talked about integrating the waterway into public procurement through new rating criteria, thus promoting the growth of logistics flows on the waterway.
Mayors made commitments to accelerate the development of river logistics for the Seine valley, an ambitious, coordinated and common strategy to meet both the economic and environmental challenge.
Furthermore, Le Havre will host Riverdating in 2022, a convention that promotes meetings between economic players and river logistics professions.
Mayor of Le Havre, Edouard Philippe, said on social media: “It was a pleasure to welcome Anne Hidalgo, Nicolas Mayer-Rossignol and Patrick Ollier in Le Havre to express our common mission: to make the waterway a path towards developing the competitiveness of the ports of the Seine Axis and accelerating the ecological transition of the entire logistics chain”.
