Sustainable mobility takes centre stage at Bluexperience exhibition in Naples
Naples has hosted Bluexperience – the national exhibition of sustainable mobility – facilitating discussion, debate and exchange of information on the topic.
City authorities headed by Mayor of Naples Gaetano Manfredi noted that attendants discussed the impact of travel on the environment and ways to make it greener and more sustainable.
Councillor for mobility Edoardo Cosenza pointed out that Naples hosted the event for the second time and added that the city is committed to expansion of pedestrian zones as part of broader environmental efforts.
He reminded that Naples is investing in public transport and incentivising residents and companies to move away from polluting vehicles and towards sustainable transport.
“In the long term, we aim to provide public transport by rail to the entire metropolitan city,” Cosenza noted, stressing that the move will improve quality of life of roughly 3 million residents as well as lower CO2 emissions and noise.
City authorities pointed out that Bluexperience attendants discussed all sectors of sustainable mobility, infrastructure, recharging solutions and energy, stressing that a wide range of topics and issues were discussed.
The event brought together industry experts, public officials and companies involved in sustainable mobility, helping them to network and exchange ideas and good practices.
