Navigating Seville made easier with innovative accessibility app
Seville has launched an app to help residents locate available parking spaces for people with reduced mobility.
City authorities headed by Mayor of Seville Antonio Muñoz pointed out that the app makes it easy to find disabled parking spaces and exact details about them.
Seville reminded that the Department of Urban Planning and Environment previously drew up a register of such parking spaces and referenced them with existing spatial data.
The department reminded that many residents with reduced mobility called for such an app and pointed out that city authorities heard them and implemented this project.
Besides helping users to locate disabled parking spaces, the app shows addresses, distance from their location, wheelchair accessibility and the number of available spaces, among other.
City authorities pointed out that the app is simple to use and allows users to request a search within a specified radius from their current location. The app also shows information on specific events and additional disabled parking spaces in public areas reserved for celebrations, including the April Fair.
Seville announced plans to expand the app and incorporate information about disabled parking spaces in public buildings, shopping centres and other car parks.
City authorities concluded that the app is available online.
