Valencia opens its second energy office, plans to open third soon

Valencia has opened its second energy office and is preparing to open a third one in the coming days.

Commenting on the move, Mayor of Valencia Joan Ribó noted “we are transforming the city to make it greener, friendlier, more sustainable and more humane, and the energy office is a basic tool for that.”

City authorities reminded that Valencia opened its first energy office two years ago, stressing that more than 4,000 residents used the services of the office in 2021, with more than 7,000 participating in the office’s activities.

The office received national and regional recognition for its activities, including the promotion of energy savings in schools.

“This success is indisputable,” Ribó stressed and added that Valencia will continue to work on the energy transition, which has come under the spotlight due to the energy crisis.

Valencia’s energy offices promote the energy transition and offer personalised advice to residents to help them understand their rights as consumers and the aid available to them. The offices also host workshops and activities focused on energy efficiency and renewable energy.

City authorities reminded that Valencia is determined to reach carbon neutrality by 2030 and will be the 2024 EU Green Capital.

“This administration is committed to the energy transition of the city and today we take another step in this direction,” Ribó concluded.
