Seville Mayor Muñoz announces more investments in pedestrian infrastructure
Mayor of Seville Antonio Muñoz discussed investments in pedestrian infrastructure with citizens and announced additional projects.
He reminded that Seville adopted plans to invest in infrastructure in Santa Clara neighbourhood in 2019 and pointed out that many projects have been implemented in recent years.
Muñoz noted that new plans focus on pavements and the public school, and build on previous projects to improve quality of life in the neighbourhood.
City authorities improved pedestrian access to the Los Rosales school and built a garden as part of the project, noting that some EUR 80,000 will go towards renovation of sanitary facilities in the school and stressing that the project will be coordinated to minimise its impact on the school year.
Besides pavements, new asphalt was laid on roads, with Seville pointing out that it spent roughly EUR 1 million on infrastructure projects in recent years.
Muñoz reiterated that the lion’s share of new investments will go towards expansion and renovation of pavements, stressing that the city is dedicated to improving quality of life in its neighbourhoods.
He pointed out that the city set up a working group with Santa Clara residents to draw up a mobility plan and added that authorities want to tighten cooperation with the residents.
Muñoz announced that city departments in charge of park maintenance are preparing a plan to protect green parts of Seville, especially the wooded parts.
