Hamburg launches new website providing overview of digitalisation efforts
The German city of Hamburg has launched a special new website which provides insight into current digitalization projects and also offers an overview of digitalisation-related activities in the city.
The Office for IT and Digitization (ITD) built and maintains the website in collaboration with Hamburg authorities and municipal companies. The goal is to provide citizens and interested experts with detailed information about Hamburg’s digitalisation efforts.
Christian Pfromm, Hamburg’s Chief Digital Officer and Head of the Office for IT and Digitization, stated : “Digitalization is having an impact on almost all areas of life and society in the city. This is exactly what we want to show on digital.hamburg.de and arouse curiosity about the digitization of the Hanseatic city. The website underlines once again that digitization creates benefits that affect all areas and have the power to connect society.”
The information on various urban projects that are pushing digitalization in Hamburg is in the centre of the new website. The spectrum is vast and includes eight topics that are based on Hamburg’s digital strategy and reflect all areas of life in the city. These are urban life, mobility and energy, business and working environments, security and law, knowledge and education, culture, sports and leisure, and health and social affairs, and the digitalization of administration.
‘’Hamburg is a modern European metropolis that is constantly improving the quality of life for its citizens and its attractiveness as a business location through digitization and technical progress. Hamburg’s digital strategy takes up social developments in various digital spaces. In this way, all areas of life in the community are taken into account. Here we present a selection of urban digitization projects from all areas,’’ it was stated on the homepage of the new website.
Aside from the digitalization initiatives that are covered on the new website, there is a lot of information about Hamburg’s involvement in the national digitalization framework. (photo credit: screenshot/digital Hamburg website)
