Centro Dalia: a new facility for women support opened in Rome
A new centre for women support, “Centro Dalia”, has been officially opened in Rome. It contains 40 places reserved for the reception of mothers with children, pregnant women and women in difficulty.
Mayor of Rome, Virginia Raggi, said via social media: “I went to visit this facility today together with the councilor Veronica Mammì whom I thank very much, together with the Department of Social Policies and all those who have contributed to opening this important center. The Center is organized with individual accommodation in a welcoming, protected space, organized for mothers and children to be together, with a playful environment for the little ones, and also guarantees protection in case of escape from mistreatment, socio-cultural deprivation or lack of resources”.
The councilor Mammi stated that different other facilities for women will be opened in the next few months.
In 10 days from the opening, guests have already entered the facility: here they have found a safe place, specialized help and a path they can take in order to get their well deserved fresh start, free from the difficulties they have experienced in the past. They can also use advice from lawyers and talk to psychologists.
The “Centro Dalia” is a new home where women can come and be supported to rebuild their autonomy, take back the control over their lives and choose an alternative for themselves and their children.
