The day when Paris was breathing in its full capacity

On Sunday September 19, Paris again organised a car-free day, this time intitled  “Journée Paris Respire”, meaning the day when Paris breathes.

All the citizens and visitors were able to enjoy a car-free city throughout the 1st , 2nd, 3rd and 4th arrondissements from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The city was reserved for non-polluting traffic, such as bicycles, rollerblades, skateboards and, of course, pedestrians.

Some of the comments on social media are:

“Such a nice initiative! A real way to discover Paris differently by strolling through its streets!”
“What a joy to be able to get lost in Paris without a car”
“Already looking forward to the next day without vehicles!”

Only buses, emergency vehicles and taxis were allowed to reach the non-vehicle zone.
