The bid is on: Mayor of Rome Roberto Gualtieri announced Rome as candidate for Expo 2030


Rome, the birthplace of the western civilisation, is officially a candidate for Expo 2030. This beautiful city, with its unique architecture, is a prime candidate for this event.

Mayor of Rome Roberto Gualtieri and Minister for foreign affairs of Italy Luigi di Maio presented the new bid for Expo 2030, Rome.

This act took place during general assembly of the Bureau International des Expositions, organised as online session.

The theme of the Rome running bid is „People and Territories: Urban Regeneration, Inclusion and Innovation“. This was a joint idea of Minister di Maio and Mayor Gualtieri.

Mayor Gualtieri stated: „ Rome is primary candidate for this occasion. Its uniqueness depicts thousands of years worth of history“. He furter added that Rome is a „bastion of culture and science. This is why it is a perfect candidate for Expo 2030“.

Rome will be going up against many prominent cities such as Moscow, Busan and Odessa. However, thanks to the leadership of mayor Gualtieri, it will surely be a strong candidate for this occasion. (Photo credit: Mauricio A./Pixabay)
