Fashion trade show organiser Premium Group returns to Berlin

Mayor of Berlin Franziska Giffey announced that a major German trade show organiser Premium Group will be making their return to the German capital during the next summer.

Mayor Giffey stated on social media: ‘’Good news for the business location and the fashion city of Berlin: we have succeeded in bringing the trade fair organiser Premium Group back to the capital. From July 7 to 9, 2022, internationally renowned fashion events will take place on the grounds around the Berlin Radio Tower and the Summer Garden.’’

‘’My stance on this is clear: Berlin is the metropolis for the cultural and creative industries and Europe’s largest startup scene. As the new state government, we are committed to an economically strong Berlin,’’ mayor Giffey continued.

Premium Group company announced in a press release they will be redefining the future of fashion fairs by launching a new event in a fresh format. The continually changing market environment compels companies, merchants, customers, and trade show organisers alike to constantly evolve and reinvent themselves, they explained.

The coronavirus prevented the Premium Group Events from kicking off as scheduled in Frankfurt am Main, and the idea to move the events to a new location was thwarted by the pandemic.

‘’We have to reinvent ourselves and look to the future – to a new stage in the life of the fashion industry post pandemic, which has changed everything. Digitisation, climate change, pandemic, changing values, new industry cycles and new players, as well as topics around gender equality, diversity, metaverse, gaming and NFTs, are just a few areas we are dealing with’’ said Anita Tillmann, Managing Partner of the Premium Group.

Berlin is traditionally known as the culture capital and is currently also at the forefront of the world’s contemporary art scene. The return of the Premium group, a major player in the field of contemporary fashion, will largely benefit the city.

‘’Trade fairs and events are an important economic factor for this and a point of attraction for Berliners and guests from all over the world. We are therefore delighted that we have succeeded in bringing the Premium Group’s events back home,’’ mayor of Berlin Franziska Giffey concluded. (photo credit: screenshot/
