Mayor of Düsseldorf Dr. Stephan Keller visited the “Vaccination Center 2.0” together with the Prime Minister of North Rhine Westphalia Hendrik Wüst on Monday. The two officials visited the newly opened vaccination facility as part of the nationwide promotion campaign for booster jabs.

Mayor Keller stated: “Indeed – and I’m proud to say this – we in Düsseldorf recognized early that, in addition to the good vaccination care provided by general practitioners, an additional and low-threshold vaccination service is necessary for all the citizens of Düsseldorf.”

NRW Prime Minister Wüst presented the state government’s new booster immunization campaign during the visit. The state government draws attention to the wide range of vaccinations available in towns and highlights the necessity of taking up booster Covid-19 shots, in addition to the requirement for initial vaccinations.

“We want to reach everyone in North Rhine-Westphalia and convince them of the fact that vaccination is the way out of the limitations of everyday life and a sign of solidarity. Because whoever gets  vaccinated protects themselves, loved ones and thus strengthens the cohesion in society, which we particularly need in these times,” Wüst stated.

The campaign titled “Boost cohesion. Refresh your vaccinations now” encourages people to protest themselves and their loved ones by taking the vaccine, but also draws attention to the social aspect of the global pandemic by encouraging them to be responsible members of the society.

The Vaccination Center 2.0 is open Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m
