City of Venice presented its bid to be crowned the world sustainability capital

Hosted by Dubai from 1 October 2021 to 31 March 2022, Expo 2020 is being organized under the main theme called “Connecting Minds, Creating the Future”. It also has three subthemes: opportunity, mobility and sustainability, each with its own pavilion.

City of Venice has presented its bid to be crowned the world sustainability capital at the Italy Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai. According to mayor of Venice Luigi Brugnaro, the city’s project to be the world sustainability capital features investments of three to four billion euros.

Mayor Brugnaro stated during the week devoted to climate change and biodiversity: “Venice is showing that it is looking to the future, that it is a place of innovation and it is on the cultural and technological cutting-edge”.

The project ranges from energy transition and environmental sustainability, including the creation of a hydrogen hub and decarbonization measures, to education and action for sustainable tourism, reports Ansamed.info.
